Is it true that we will buy your jewelry from you?  Yes we will and that’s not all we buy!

What else will you buy?  In addition to buying all types of jewelry, we buy old silverware and hollow-ware (such as forks, knives, dishes, and candlesticks), watch cases, old coins, and even grandad’s gold teeth!  We will buy almost any type of item made from gold, silver, and platinum.  Items can be in any condition, broken or whole.  If you are not sure what you have, but think it might be precious metal,  just bring it in and we will help identify the metal it is made of.

How do you identify the precious metal in my items?  First, we will ask you a few simple questions about your items and answer any questions you may have about the process.  Then, with your permission, we will begin to physically examine the items.  We use visual clues, such as appearance and metal quality stampings first.  Then we electronically test your item to confirm the visual clues.  This will not do any harm to your item.  If further testing is necessary, we can make a small scratch in a hidden area of your item and chemically test it.  At this stage we will also determine the purity of the metal in your item.  If it is precious metal, we will proceed to the next step.

How do you determine the offer to buy my item? Once we identify the metal and the purity, we will weigh the item and look up the current metals prices.  Other factors, such as the desirability of the item, or the ability to be reuse or recycle the item into our own jewelry, or having the item apply as a payment towards new jewelry or repairs can influence the offer in a positive way.  There is no commitment to accept our offer after it is made, but due to daily changes in the price of precious metals, if you come back at a later date, we cannot guarantee the same offer.

Can I watch you do all of these things?  Yes, absolutely.  All testing will be done in your presence.  You can also drop items off for testing or call ahead to make an appointment.  We provide a safe, comfortable environment for you and the entire process takes just a few minutes.

What happens if I decide to accept your offer?  Congratulations on your sale!  We will need to see a photo ID for verification and then we will make immediate payment!

What happens to my items after you purchase them?  It depends on the item. First, we try to find a way to reuse or repurpose items and parts in our own jewelry.  Other times, if the piece is unique, we will refurbish it and try to place it with another owner.  If the item is not usable in the store as is, we send it off to be refined and fabricated into raw material, such as sheet and wire, which we can use to make our jewelry.  We make every effort to recycle so nothing is wasted.

I’m not sure if I want to sell my item, can my jewelry be made into something new?  Yes it can.  We can create completely new items or modify your current piece of jewelry.  Often, customers inherit or acquire items that carry a special meaning, but don’t fit properly or is not to their personal taste.   Just ask and we can provide suggestions that will help you honor the history and memories these items represent and allow you wear them with pride.
