Julia Newton- owner, designer

I graduated from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina in 1994 with a BFA in Jewelry and Metalsmithing. After college, I worked for varied jewelry operations including a designer-craftsman, a retail jewelry store, and a wholesale jewelry repair shop, picking up skills from each one.  In 2003, I started designing a line of silver jewelry as both a hobby and a creative outlet. From these humble beginnings blossomed our store, which has grown and evolved since we opened in 2008. I design and fabricate limited production, one-of-a-kind, and custom design pieces in silver, gold, and platinum, accented with colorful beads and precious stones. I also offer expert repair and refurbishing of all kinds of jewelry– I love a challenge!

My designs include centuries-old motifs, elegant and modern styles, and fun, light-hearted decorations for everyday life. My jewelry is made to be worn, whether it’s dressed up or dressed down. Every piece is cut, shaped, soldered, forged, and polished by my two hands. It’s truly a labor of love.

It makes me happy to see my clients wearing and enjoying my jewelry. I’m proud to be the designer and fabricator of jewelry marking milestones in my client’s lives: a pale, blue sapphire pendant for a wedding anniversary, a set of matching bridesmaids’ pendants, a spur of the moment demand for new earrings from my little daughter.

I hope wearing my jewelry brings you happiness.

Will Newton-owner, designer

I also graduated from ECU, but with a BFA in Wood Design.  While there I took many jewelry classes in order to spend more time with my girlfriend (now my wife).  After spending many years building some of the finest handmade furniture in Eastern North Carolina, I teamed up with the perfect partner to begin making furnishings for the body instead of the home.  I do a lot of the jobs that are not so glamorous at the store, such as doing all our photography, graphic design, web design, business paperwork, maintenance, and helping customers.  I also repair and fabricate jewelry right alongside Julia.  In addition, I perform some of the high tech services we offer, such as managing our new jewelry CAD design systems and performing impossible construction and repairs using our state of the art laser welder.

Flora Newton- designer, helper

Not to be left out, our daughter also helps out at the store.  She is learning to make jewelry and even has a section of the store with her own designs.  In addition, she helps keep the store clean and greets customers.  What a great helper!

Jasper Newton- nap taker

Our lovable 15-year old mutt.  His main duty involves holding down his sleeping rug, but he will occasionally come out and greet a customer if he thinks there is a snack to be had.  He makes us smile when the day gets long and the work is hard.  Winner of every “Employee of the month” prize since we opened.
